Cheap Web Content
A few freelance sites offer employers the opportunity to find writers for specific projects. Unfortunately, quality is not always top of the list for some employers.
What does this mean? Well, an employer on one site recently asked for 50 original articles and two rewrites of each article. The winning bid was from India, at US$50. Proof that you can indeed get bulk content writing done for a pittance. But...
Have you seen the quality of content coming from countries that do not have English as their first language?
I have. While I understand that US$50 is a reasonable amount of money in some countries, I wonder why some businesses are prepared to load poorly written content on their websites, just to save a few bucks? Some content writers use article spinners and can churn out articles within a few minutes. Search engines may not be able to pick up on poorly written content (yet), but human readers can certainly tell the difference between good and bad content.
I immediately disregard websites that are written poorly and have bad spelling or typos. I seldom return to those sites. How many of your clients do the same?

Sometimes freelances undercut their value due to a slow period, or if they are new to the industry. However, as with all industries: You get what you pay for!
