Don't say "Content is King" again!
"Content is King." Stop saying that! Wherever I go, I run into SEO specialists, weekend web designers and wannabe freelancers telling me that "Content is King". I get it.
And, believe it or not, I agree.
But does everyone understand why content is so important? Or has "Content is King" become a phrase that rolls smoothly off the tongue - with no deeper understanding?
The reality is that without relevant content, your web site is sure to stumble along with millions of other sites that never quite make it. Content is the main reason your visitors come to your website and it's a powerful place to get your message across. A well-designed website (not just pretty), with the right keywords and fresh, quality content is a big step in the right direction.
Relevant and fresh content also offers the following benefits:
- Search Engines prefer sites that are updated regularly, with unique content;
- Quality content encourages other people to link to you from their sites;
- Good use of the correct keywords index you with the main Search Engines;
- You provide your customer with correct and valuable information;
- You build a name for yourself in your industry.
If you go for quality content that is relevant to your business, you will get quality leads from your content. If you buy poorly-written content and try to dupe the search engines by inserting too many keywords, your prospects are unlikely to hang around long enough to hear what you have to say.
Your website is the store-front of your business. If your website content is riddled with errors - then why would anyone trust you with their money?
Wordy thought for today:
A "tattogey" is someone who cheats by using loaded dice.
