Newsletter Sound Bites

Sound bites

Television and radio journalists all love a good sound bite. A sound bite is a short phrase or sentence that deftly captures the essence of what the speaker is trying to say. The sound bite is usually 15 to 30 seconds long, depending on the speaker or the story.

Newsletter sound bites

Why not use the concept of sound bites in a newsletter? Using "sound bites" in a newsletter is a fantastic way to get attention without using too much space and taking up too much of your client's time.

Keep it short

Grab your customer's attention by a short, sharp description of what you are offering. Once your customer is interested, provide the detailed information as clearly and as briefly as possible.

Keep it clean

Keep your newsletter layout clean. Use your "sound bites" as short messages, compelling your customers to pursue a particular product or service. A few, well-written short messages in your newsletter will be far more effective than a single advertising blurb about your company.

Wordy thought for today:

The word "news" is not the plural of "new." It came from the first letters of the words North, East, West and South. This was because information was being gathered from all different directions.
